The single paradiddle is an incredibly useful rudiment since it automatically reverses your sticking. It’s a single followed by a double and goes RLRR or LRLL. When you practice these you’ll normally join these groups together and play them as an even string of notes with no gaps:
- RLRR LRLL RLRR LRLL
The gaps above are just to make it easier to read. You play all of these rudiments without any gaps between the groups.
