An essential part of learning to play the drums is developing your ‘internal clock’ and natural sense of rhythm. This takes practice and one of the best ways of developing your sense of timing and measuring your progress is to practice to a metronome. Here’s a free YouTube metronome with handy visual count (in 4/4). It goes from 60bpm to 150bpm in 5bpm increments.
